Marvellous Mulika’s first wild born baby!

We are delighted to announce that on 7th November, ex-CWI sponsored orphan Mulika returned to her old home at the Ithumba stockades accompanied by her day old baby girl called Mwende! Our foster parents often ask for news of their “gone wild” charges and for some, this can be scarce. However, it was fortunate that Mulika brought her new addition to visit her old friends straight away!

CWI has partnered with the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for many years, offering our supporters the opportunity to adopt “orphaned” elephants rescued by the Trust. Mulika joined this extended family in 2001, just 7 months old. With the support of her foster parents, she passed from the Nairobi nursery to the rehabilitation stockades before finally reintegrating back in the wild herds of Tsavo East National Park.

Mulika’s success story truly highlights the importance of this wonderful work, which continues today. We wish her and Mwende (meaning the Loved One) all the best for their continuing journey as wild elephants of Tsavo!

In this season of goodwill, please provide a lifeline for wildlife in need!

This Christmas, we would like to thank you for helping us to save tens of thousands of wild animals around the world. We’ve used your donations to fund anti-poaching work in Kenya, tiger conservation in India and Thailand, and wildlife rescue here in the United Kingdom, but, there is still so much more to be done. Christmas is an expensive time for all of us, but, please consider digging a little deeper, so that we can give hope to more wild animals in 2012.

Attention all art and wildlife lovers … your chance to own a beautiful piece of art and help wild tigers!‏

Brighten up your life, your home, office or garden with your very own Jungle City sculpture!

Care for the Wild International (CWI), is delighted to have been asked by Elephant Family to sponsor a tiger sculpture as part of their 2011 ‘Jungle City’ exhibition.

You now have the chance to bid for our beautiful tiger sculpture, called ‘Nola’, created by the famous fashion designers Falguni & Shane Peacock.

Money raised from the sale of Nola will go towards CWI’s vital tiger protection projects and campaigns.

Tigers are the largest cats on earth. They are also one of the most threatened. In the last 100 years alone, the global tiger population has plummeted by 97%. Sadly, there are only around 3,200 wild tigers left today. Tigers are being pushed to the brink of extinction, but with the right help, there is still time to save them, just…

Care for the Wild International is committed to the protection of tigers and their wild habitats. We work to combat poaching, campaign against the exploitation of captive tigers and care for rescued tigers that cannot return to the Wild.

Please help us raise money for this important cause by placing your bid today. Nola is up for online auction until Sunday October 2nd at 5PM.

(Please note that in order to bid you must have an Ebay account. For more information, see the Jungle City website).

Thannk you and ‘happy bidding!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME FOR YOU, A LIFETIME OF HELL FOR THEM!

Off on holiday this year and hoping to get a close up experience with the local wildlife? A photo with a cute monkey or a ride on an elephant?

It may seem like harmless holiday fun but please stop to consider the effect on the animal, repetitively forced to perform for our pleasure. Care for the Wild International (CWI) urgently needs your help to stop these practices and rescue the animals who suffer abuse to provide this “entertainment”.

Please support our appeal today: http://www.careforthewild.com/news.asp?detail=true&I_ID=889&section=Current+Appeals

“One month, £1,000 fundraising target!

Can you help us meet our £1,000 fundraising target by 20th July?

We need 50 donors or more to raise at least £1,000 to help to secure our place on www.globalgiving.org  Your donation will directly support our patrol teams who keep wild animals safe from poachers, protect habitat and help local people and wildlife live alongside one another in Kenya. To secure our place on this valuable fundraising site, which not only makes donating easy but also raises awareness of our work, we have just one month from 20th June – 20th July to raise our target. You can make it happen so join us in this race for wildlife! If we reach our target, one lucky donor will be drawn out of the hat to win an elephant adoption.
